Home at last

After over two months in the hospital, it’s good to be home. Thank you all for your prayers.

Walking by Faith,
Michael and Alma White

~2 Corinthians 4:16-18
Do not lose heart, therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly
we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory
that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen.
For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

My prayer;
Lord Jesus Christ, by your patience in suffering you hallowed earthly pain and gave us the example of obedience to your father's will; be near me in my time of weakness and pain; sustain me by your grace, that my strength and courage may not fail; heal me according to your will, and help me always to believe that what happens to me here is of little account if you hold me in eternal life, my Lord and my God. Amen

Texts to Pray for Our Children

That Jesus will call them and no one will hinder them from coming.

Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people, but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” And he laid his hands on them and went away. (Matthew 19:13-15)

That they will respond in faith to Jesus’ faithful, persistent call.

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)

That they will experience sanctification through the transforming work of the Holy Spirit and will increasingly desire to fulfill the greatest commandments.

And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself." (Matthew 22:37-39)

That they will not be unequally yoked in intimate relationships, especially marriage.

Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? (2 Corinthians 6:14)

That their thoughts will be pure.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. (Philippians 4:8)

That their hearts will be stirred to give generously to the Lord's work.

All the men and women, the people of Israel, whose heart moved them to bring anything for the work that the Lord had commanded by Moses to be done brought it as a freewill offering to the Lord. (Exodus 35:29)

That when the time is right, they will GO!

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)

Romance Verses Love

"This is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another."
- 1 John 3:11

The romance has gone out of my marriage. Instead, there is love. Romance used to say, "I'll do absolutely anything for you," but love goes a step further and says, "Yes, and I'll prove it."

Romance is fleeting, but love is long.

Romance is flying, but love is a safe landing.

Romance seeks perfection, but love forgives faults.

Romance anguishes as it waits for the phone to ring to bring a voice that says sweet things, but love is the anguish of waiting for a call
that assures you someone else is safe and happy.

Romance is suspense, anticipation and surprise,
but love is dependability.

Romance is dancing in the moonlight, gazing deep into desired eyes, but love is saying, "You're tired, honey, I'll get up this time."

Romance is delicious, but love nourishes.

July 21, 2007

Hello
I just want to thank you all for your love and support. I pray that God will bless you and keep you, leading you closer to him, displaying his will in your lives, drawing us all closer to him as he leads us eternally.

The benefit for our family on July 21 was awesome. So many people turned out to show love and support, we were overwhelmed and we would like to express how much we appreciate all of the time and effort so many of you put in before, during and after the event. Alma and I would also like to thank everybody who donated for the silent auction as well as everyone who donated of their time on our behalf. But I'm not exactly sure how to go about doing that. We will just rest assured that God works all things for the good of those who love him. In all situations. I believe that God blessed the event and everyone that participated. Also we would like to thank The friends of Mike white and Napa police Officer Association for the love and support that was shown for us. Thank you.

Just after the fundraiser, on Tuesday of last week we had a family come to visit and stay with us from Florida. This is a man who also has ALS, in which I met in the "patients like me" website. He has recently come to know the Lord, and the Lord led him to his new wife Glenda, between them they have three children that were also with them as they stayed with us for a week.
We know that God used us this week in their lives as we opened our home to them.

While they were here we took them to the Giants game, Marine world, the drag races and to our church. "Ken" was able to be here for Bible study on Monday night, we are studying "knowing God", he enjoyed our Bible study and the Fellowship that we shared, I look forward to sending him the book and the study guide as he wanted to read it and study it as we discuss it through e-mail.

Thank you for all the e-mails this past week. We will be reading and getting caught up as time allows. God bless you all and we love you.

Walking by faith,
Michael White

Wisdom from the Psalms

Psalm 89:5 And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O Lord: thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints.

The rainstorm had been terrific. Torrents of rain had fallen, drenching everything. Now, the clouds began to part. Shafts of bright sunlight stretched to the earth, causing all foliage to sparkle with droplets of water. On the horizon, a rainbow stretched from earth to earth. The clouds climbed high into the sky, turning rosy pink with the sunlight.
God's creation gives testimony to His truth all the time. All His wonders unfold through the course of one day. From the sunrise through the course of one day. From the sunrise through nighttime starshine, God's glories unfold. Take time to view God's handiwork. Search the daytime skies and see the majesty of the Almighty. His hand is ever upon His creation.

Prayer:
All praise and hone belongs to You, Lord. For the magnificent works of Your hands. You have made such beauty, and You have loved us enough to share it. Thank You, Father, Amen.

A Godly Nation?

Our God holds the nations in His hand,They rise and fall at His command;O how we need to earnestly pray,Repent of sins, and walk His way…That we might soar like eagles and be…A Godly Nation, Strong and Free.
We have thrown the Bible out of schools And prayer is now against the rules; We no longer acknowledge our Lord—We have laid down the Spirit’s sword And we’ve taken up the devils tools…O how could we become such fools?
At one time we had prospered and grown,But now we’re reaping what we’ve sown;Crime is rising wherever we go,Morals are at an all time low—We’ve swallowed a very bitter pill And watched our nation go down hill.
May God forgive us, my Christian friend,For times we’ve not stood true to Him;O how we need to earnestly pray,Repent of sins, and walk His way…That we might soar like eagles and be…A Godly Nation, Strong and Free.

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord”(2 Ch 7:14; Ps 33:12)
